Sealed Tenders, clearly marked as to content, will be received by the Engineering Department, 5520 50th Street, Wetaskiwin, AB T9A 2G9 up to 2:00:00 pm hours local time on Thursday, February 2, 2023, for the City of Wetaskiwin – 40 Avenue Overlay (Reynolds Museum Access to West City Limits). The time will be conclusively determined using the National Research Council of Canada Webclock at http//time5.nrc.ca/webclock_e.shtml. No public tender opening will be held.
The Work to be undertaken is generally described as: 40 Avenue Overlay Reynolds Museum Access to West City Limits in the City of Wetaskiwin and includes the following scope of work.
· Full Depth Asphalt Removal (incl. Sawcutting) – 350m2
· Cold Milling Asphalt Pavement (50mm depth) – 950m2
· Crack Repair – Shallow Mill and Fill – 400m
· Remove & Dispose Existing Curb and Gutter (incl. Sawcutting) – 1,050m
· Excavation (Remove & Dispose Unsuitable Material) – 1,350 m3
· Subgrade Preparation (150mm) – 1,300m2
· Soil Cement (150mm) – 1,300m2 (PROVISIONAL)
· Gravel Base Course (Des 3, Class 20) (350mm depth) – 1,100 tonnes
· Asphalt Concrete Pavement Overlay H1 Mix (PG 58-28) (50mm depth) – 1,500 tonnes
· Asphalt Concrete Pavement Overlay H1 Mix (PG 58-28) (40mm depth) (PROVISIONAL) – 1,200 tonnes
· GlasGrid – 700m2
· Concrete Rolled Face Curb & Gutter (600mm width) c/w Wick Drain – Supply & Install– 1,040m
· Concrete Median Fill (120mm depth) – 160m2
· Class B Concrete Fill – 30m3
· Adjust Ex. Catch Basin Frame & Grate – 2 each
· Landscape Remediation (Contractor Borrow Topsoil, Sod & Hydroseeding)
· Pavement Markings
Construction Completion Date is July 31, 2023
Starting 2:00:00 pm, local time, Thursday, January 5, 2023, Tender Documents and Drawings may be obtained from City of Wetaskiwin Engineering Department between the hours of 8:30a.m. and 12:00p.m. and 1:00p.m. and 4:30p.m., Monday to Friday. An electronic version can be obtained by emailing, engineering@wetaskiwin.ca. Contact information must be provided at the time of pickup. A non-refundable payment to City in the amount of $35.00 will be required for each bidder to obtain tender documents, paper or electronic.
Bidders must regularly check Alberta Purchase Connection for addendums.
Bidders are completely responsible for ensuring that their bids reach the correct final location prior to the bid submission deadline. Fax, email and other non-hard copy forms of bids or amendments WILL NOT be accepted.
A bid bond or certified cheque for the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Tender Price is to accompany each Tender. Submission of a Tender by the Bidder gives the City the right to require the Bidder to execute the Contract and to perform the Work as set out within the Tender Documents. Tenders may not be withdrawn at or after the Tender submittal deadline and will be irrevocable and open for acceptance by the City for a period of sixty (60) days following the Tender submittal deadline.
The bidder acknowledges and will be willing to accept the role of prime contractor pursuant to the occupational health and safety act requirements and by submission of a bid acknowledges that it has the capability of fulfilling this requirement.
The City reserves the right, without prejudice, to reject any or all Tenders.
The City of Wetaskiwin contracts have changed and contractors must fully read and understand the responsibilities outlined in this document before submitting a bid.
